Gary White is a proven leader in strategic and statutory planning and visionary in his role as the Chief Planner for NSW Department of Planning and Environment having previously held senior roles with MacroPlan Dimasi and Queensland’s Local and State Governments.
As the Chief Planner, Gary leads and manages the alignment of strategic NSW planning system initiatives with government and cluster/agency goals. The role provides specialist expertise, leadership and advice across government and business sectors.  Gary’s extensive knowledge and pragmatic approach to planning systems, regional planning, unique and individual projects enables him to analyse and resolve complex planning system challenges.  
Gary is very optimistic around the positive opportunities presented by the Department’s regional and city shaping planning agenda that is taking place on the back of the current NSW Government infrastructure programs.
Gary holds a Bachelor in Regional Town Planning (University of Queensland) and Postgraduate Diploma Business Administration (Queensland University of Technology).  He is a Life Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.

Anna is an experienced public sector manager who has worked in a number of agencies, including NSW Police, NSW Courts and the NSW Department of Transport.
Anna joined Roads and Maritime Services in February 2013 following eight years as an Area Director for Housing NSW in the Hunter and Central Coast regions. Her qualifications include a BA (Hons) from the University of Newcastle.
Since joining RMS Anna’s focus has been to support process of organisational reform within the department, including a stronger focus on long term strategic planning, and drive stronger engagement with RMS’ key industry, community, and state and local government partners.
In March 2016 Anna was appointed to the role of Regional Manager, RMS & Coordinator General Transport for Newcastle, oversighting the Newcastle Coordination Office for the Newcastle Transport Program. This new role recognises Anna’s success in managing stakeholder relationships and driving cultural change within organisations. In this role Anna’s focus is to broadly engage the community and key stakeholders with the Newcastle Transport Program and ensure the program delivers on the critical objectives of the Revitalising Newcastle strategy.

Peter commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Newcastle Airport in June 2015. Peter has undertaken a significant revision of the business; working closely with the Board to reset strategy and ensure the organisation is match-fit to deliver to its potential. The review involved substantial engagement with key stakeholders and business leaders at both a regional and state level.  
Peter was previously employed at Perth Airport where he developed his aviation career, progressing from Environmental Manager to Chief Operating Officer.
Peter holds a PhD in Environmental Science and one of his greatest personal achievements was completing the Mount Everest Base Camp climb in May 2008.

Jenny is an Executive Director at Infrastructure NSW, contributing to the development of infrastructure strategies for growth in NSW and for the Restart NSW Fund, the NSW Government’s initiative for recycling assets. Jenny’s career has spanned public works, energy and the telecommunications sectors in Australia and in Papua New Guinea and included international collaborations and business development. 
Jenny is a member of a number of NSW Government project advisory boards and was a member of Committee for Economic Development of Australia’s Sustainability Leaders Round Table.
Jenny is a board member on the Heritage Council of NSW. Jenny is passionate about the value to our society of heritage places, buildings and other destination items and how they impact where we want to live and work.
Jenny holds a Bachelor Degree in Financial Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Councillor Pynsent has served on Council since 1999 and this is his second term as Mayor. A long time interest in local issues, Cr Pynsent believes his role as Mayor is to build a better community for groups of all ages. He is a former teacher and principal who finished his career at Kearsley Public School.
The father-of-two, who raised his boys with wife Kathy, has always represented Ward B. He has lived in the Cessnock local government area since 1988 and is a keen cattle breeder in his spare time.
The Mayor is passionate about growing the government area in terms of developing communities and providing jobs for local people. He is focused on continually lobbying for financial assistance for Council’s roads and bridges program as well as community recreation facilities.
During his time as Mayor, Cr Pynsent has celebrated increased funding provided by the State Government enabling the improvement of roads such as Broke and Hermitage. He serves on boards including Hunter Resource Recovery, Westpac Rescue Helicopter and is the Chairman of Hunter Councils. As a white ribbon ambassador, the Mayor is passionate about reducing domestic violence in the Cessnock community.

Bryan is Johnson Property Group’s Planning Director and has been with the company for over 10 years and has over 15 years’ experience as a Town Planner. Bryan has been instrumental in putting Johnson Property Group on the NSW development map and has overseen the Group’s entire development portfolio. He has driven Johnson Property Group’s State Significant Development projects at Vermont Pitt Town, Watagan Park Cooranbong, Bellbird North, Wahroonga Estate (incorporating Sydney Adventist Hospital) and the companies major marina and tourism development at Trinity Point Lake Macquarie. Bryan understands the intricacies of what’s required to make a residential housing project successful, from spatial landuse planning and lot mix through utility and social infrastructure requirements. 
Bryan complements this expertise with extensive experience in Commonwealth, State and Local Government relationships, planning and engineering consultancy. Bryan has lived and worked in the Hunter all of his life so has a good knowledge of planning and development issues in this region, focusing on new urban release areas.
